I think this is a great idea and it works well. I use it every day and it's holding up pretty well. It shows wear pretty quickly, but continues to serve its purpose. It sits up about 3/4 of an inch so, since I don't wear my golf shoes in the living room where I use it, I have to choke down to make the lie about the same as a flat lie at the range
